Mayor Martin J. Walsh and his Office of New Bostonians (MONB) announced plans for its We Are Boston Anniversary Gala. Broadway, film, and television star Vanessa Williams will take the stage with her dynamic and timeless vocals to celebrate its tenth anniversary. The gala will be held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel, attracting nearly 1,000 attendees on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact immigrants have brought to strengthen and invigorate Boston. The Office of New Bostonians Fund was created to accept contributions from individuals, organizations, and local and private business for the purpose of funding the Immigrant Integration and Empowerment Initiative, New Americans Library Corners, English for New Bostonians, Immigration Advice Clinics, and mini-grants for Boston-based, immigrant-led, and immigrant-serving nonprofit organizations. Contributions are tax deductible as permitted by law.
